Carl Dyer is the National Head of Planning at leading law firm Irwin Mitchell. He has over 35 years’ experience of our Town & Country Planning system. He has assisted clients such as Audley Court, Guildcare, and Sunrise Senior Living to build numerous care homes around the country, helping to secure planning permissions both by negotiation and through planning inquiries. Carl and his team have carried out research and reported upon the extent to which local planning authorities are making provision for housing for the elderly in their local plans.
Irwin Mitchell are associate members of ARCO, the Association of Retirement Community Operators, and Carl is a regular contributor to the debate on the need for better provision for retirement accommodation and care homes for the growing population of elderly people. Irwin Mitchell have made representations on both the (then) emerging new NPPF and the Draft London Plan.
