Jonathan is a medical doctor by background. He practiced in the NHS before moving into health-system IT via an MBA at University of Edinburgh. Jonathan was at the forefront of a period of rapid progress in IT-enabled change in the healthcare sector – particularly how IT systems and the innovative use of data can improve the quality and efficiency of care delivery.
In 2011, Jonathan entered and won a national Design Council Challenge (funded by the Department of Health). Jonathan’s Trading Times service – an online skills-dating service to connect people over 50 with local employers for the purposes of flexible, paid work - was one of 5 out of 156 entries that were awarded development funding. Trading Times launched successfully in January 2014. In 2016, Jonathan launched The Age of No Retirement with Georgina Lee, to create scalable impact through social innovation and design-led disruption. Jonathan has worked full-time on Trading Times and The Age of No Retirement since August 2011.
Jonathan was born in London and grew up in South Africa. He has lived in London since 2000. He is married to Robinne (herself a social entrepreneur), has a daughter, Ruby (15), and a son, Tyler (12). Jonathan’s a lover of cricket, rugby and Killer Sudoku.
