Entrepreneur, Robin Hughes, has 20 years’ experience in the property and care industry and is CEO and Managing Director of Retirement and Care Village Partners (RCVP), a new entrant to the sector. The company’s first scheme, Castle View Windsor, is a £50million development opening in October on time and to budget. The innovative urban retirement village comprises 64 apartments and a separate dedicated care home and operates under RCVP’s Castle Retirement Living brand.
After running pension funds for Hillier Parker Fund Management for nine years, and Norwich Union Investment and Development, Robin ran Abbey National's outsourced national property and retail portfolio for Soros and Delancey backed business, Mapeley. He then became Development Director for Richmond Care Villages, opening Richmond Painswick and building Richmond Letcombe. In 2008 he joined Shelbourne Senior Living as Head of Development, prior to setting up Retirement and Care Village Partners in 2010.
After analysing retirement living schemes in New Zealand when establishing a motorcycle touring business in the country in 1999, Castle View Windsor has been driven by Robin’s desire to provide a retirement home ‘good enough for Mum’, with his own mother now amongst its first residents.
